Wow! This story is tough!!!!! It was explosive, it dirty, it was wrong, it was twisted, overall it was perfect! If you're a fan of dark reads then this book is for you. I love MC reads and this one was amazing! The characters, while pissing you off, also make you love them. This is one of those stories you have to experience.Winter is such a tough woman! She was taken through the ringer in this book but in the end she still stood tall.
Braxxton Was an a$$! That simple. I hated him half the time but when we got to see him really be himself with winter it made me love him so hard! He is the Prez and has this air about him that commands attention. There were times I wanted to punch him upside the head, and kiss him at the same time.
The secondary characters really made the story thrive. We get a look inside this family of this motorcycle club and fall in love with each and everyone of them and we patiently wait for others books.
The plots that this book a revolves around was crazy. There were a few times that I cried there were a few times I that I cursed the author for what she did in this book and there were times where I was in a fit of giggles. In the end some got some type of justice while others were broken.
Overall this was an amazing read. It breaks you, makes you cringe and makes you cheer for the vengeance that is bestowed upon the bad guys. I can't wait to see what else is to come 4 stars. #2OCCJD

So I'm a sucker for an MC book and had high hopes for this one, but it just didn't do it for me. It started off well, Winter and her friend Lana are asked to dance at a birthday party for a local MC's president. Winter incidentally is the daughter of a Russian crime boss and is on the run from that life. She wants no parts of an MC but goes along as a favor to Lana. From the moment the Breaknecker’s president, Braxxon, sees Winter he wants her for his own. And then all hell breaks loose from there.
The bit that worked for me
- It was gritty and raw…the rape scene, while harsh and difficult to read, seemed realistic and fit in with an MC world of violence
- Winter was a ballsy, strong female character….i liked that she was no shrinking violet when crap went down
The rest that really didn’t work for me
- There really wasn’t enough build up in attraction between Winter and Brax for it to feel real. I get the insta-lust but everything just happened way too quickly for me to feel invested in their relationship
- The drugs….I get that this was supposed to be a gritty MC book but the blatant and gratuitous drug use just didn’t sit well with me, but I know that’s purely personal feeling
- The lack of depth in the characters….it was just a two-dimensional action movie playing out on my kindle. There were depth in the feelings or thoughts of the characters.
- The editing….lots of issues here….their instead of there….piece instead of peace etc etc ETC!
So ALL of that being said, will I read more??? I am ashamed to say after all of that that I might just pick up book 2. I’m a Pollyanna at heart. I’m hoping the author has grown and will show us more stuff in Bk 2. I want to like the characters so I may just be back for more.
Yes...I really DID like this book...and I'm about to start reading the next in the series.
Sure it's violent and does describe abuse towards women...but tell me/show me any that don't no matter what the genre. I see more disgusting things on network television than in this book so I am not going to criticize the author for her work of fiction.
The lives of Angel and her friend Lana get real messed up in this biker world and I really enjoyed the diversion this book provided for me. I have read enough MC books/series to know that Seize Me wasn't even as rough and gritty as some of the other major best selling ones out there but really honest and down to earth.
As bad as it seemed, there was a lot of love and caring in this dysfunctional type "family". Parents still cared about their kids having a safe upbringing, despite the fact they were born into a life they had no choice over and as messed up as it looked, more people than bikers have multiple sexual partners (sometimes in the same day, as I've seen in some tamer romance novels). And don't get me started on gun violence...we have plenty of that all over the place from people who are not even affiliated with bikers but carry firearms every day.
Looking forward to starting Withstanding Me later tonight. If you read the author's notes at the end of this book, you would understand that she is writing about a life she understands from her own experience. Brave storytelling.
