Hard to believe that I have had this book on my kindle for more than a year, and I just finished reading it today. As a writer myself, I have had to slow down on my reading because of my own writing journey, but happy to say I finally took time to read this amazing book. I met our lovely author at our very first signing last August 2013. Instantly I was a fan, and got to know the person who delivered us this beautiful Love Series. Sorry friend that I'm too slow for my own good. I loved this book, and had to know more about her character Reid, who I met in "Let Love in" which is actually book 5, but standalone thank god, or I would have been lost. I guess you can say that I'm reading backwards. This book begins the love story of Reid & Maddy. It's a tale of two young and unique individuals who have had their share of painful pasts, too much heartbreak, and know all too well how to keep Love out of their very fragile hearts. Well fate has other plans for these two, and Love does find them. Of course its not picturesque, but a journey I would definitely recommend readers to embark on. You will not be disappointed and probably will have difficulty putting this book down once you begin. I know I did, and I'm already on book 2. That's all you're getting out of me. I don't do spoilers. You will have to find out for yourself how Amazing this book is! Happy Reading. xoxo
Let Love In is by Melissa Collins. This romance is the first of a series. Until the characters were finally all fleshed out, the book was a little slow. However, once the characters were well rounded, the book began to be more interesting. The plot was one which changed as new people or new things came into play. This made the book a very good read.
Maddy lost her parents when she was ten. From that time on, she built a wall around her emotions and didn’t let anyone in. Melanie and her mother were already within the wall as she had known them before. Maddy and Melanie left home together to go to college. They roomed together and had Cammie and Lia as suitemates. The four girls got along quite well. Maddy knew that someday she wanted a husband and a family but so far, she hadn’t met a man she trusted that far.
When Maddy met Riley, they flirted for a bit and then he turned extremely cold on her and turned his back on her. Maddy had no idea why such a gorgeous man would do that. When she started at the gym, she realized that Riley also was there but decided he would just be decorations while she walked. When Riley saw her, he became very angry and accused her of stalking him. No matter what she did, if she came across Riley, he would lash out at her. That is until the night she met Mike and things changed. Why was Riley so angry at Maddy? Would Maddy let down her emotional wall and be happy? What happened with Mike to change things? Would Maddy and Riley ever trust each other?
FIRST I want to say that this account is shared by myself DIANE and my husband JAMES. I got this as a freebie because I went to Melissa Collins Release Party of book #5 Let Love Live and I saw that it was offered free on in a post. I was particularly interested in that book (#5), but was given the advice to read at least book 1 and 2 before I read it. So I purchased this book on (for free). I am only 50% through this book but I can tell you I already am in love. Within the first three chapters she had me in tears because I had already emotionally connected with the female lead. I will update this review once I finish the book with a more detailed account of how I feel about the story, it won't include any spoilers however I am rating it 4 stars so far only because I have not finished the book. I just wanted to post this review so that i could encourage anyone to start this series especially since this book is currently available for FREE!

UPDATE AUGUST 8, 2014. Today I finished Let Love In and I am so happy I have already bought the rest of this series. I have already begun Let Love Stay (book 2). This book is a tremendous beginning to Maddy and Reid. They are both damaged by their pasts and looking to each other for the light at the end of the tunnel. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys both romance and emotional reads. I am giving this book an overall 5 stars!!!
Man, I review very few books and I have never given a bad review - ever! I don't want to do it but I feel like I owe it to all the readers out there who love this genre of books as much as I do. I got to chapter 7 and that was through pure determination (and torture) because I really hate to start something and not finish it - but I just can't with this one. I have read hundreds of these books and this is by far one of the worst. The writing is so amateurish it's annoying. The storyline and characters are so under developed and shallow that you feel absolutely nothing when reading this. No sympathy, no love, no angst - nothing - and if you ask me that's worse than hate. I'm all for insta-love when done right but don't insult my intelligence by trying to make me believe that these two people have this profound understanding of each other after a few conversations that lasted about two seconds each. Huh??? The dialog is so phony and forced it just made me cringe. Let's not forget how repetitive it is. FYI, it sounds even more cliche when they start every conversation by saying "I know this sounds cliche but..." - I heard that more times than I care to remember. Please, just skip this one. SERIOUSLY! Try Abbi Glines instead.
