I read this book in a day!! Latasha Goodman-Shears you had me laughing, crying and mad at the same time! I loved it from the beginning to the end! "Dear Wives, Side Chicks are Winning" is for EVERY woman no matter if you're a wife, girlfriend or side chick. This book shows the struggles of an relationship. The ups/downs and how through faith you can get through ANYTHING!!
This book is amazing! I enjoyed it from start to finish. I am a creative person & a visual reader so it played out like a movie in my head. I felt the love of the husband & wife, as well as all of the other emotions and points of view. The pain and frustration was real. The authors did an excellent job in telling their story. They put it out there & there is no shame to it, because they are being an example for others. Their story is a testimony. Reading as a wife, husband, other woman, other man or just someone not wanting to go through something similar, you WILL get a message from it. To the authors, Mrs. & Mr. Shears, I am truly happy that yall got back together. GOD is good! Yalls love is strong....truly meant to be.
Real issues, real struggles. It was truly a blessing reading your story Latasha, and a testimony of God's love. Knowing first hand how true the story is, being there watching you guys go through it and seeing how God had blessed you has encouraged me to put more focused on my marriage and ways we could be better. Not to mention how the words just came to life on the pages making me laugh, cry and wanna smack my husband once or twice. Lol But really, everyone should get this book!
It doesn't matter if your married, single or a current side chick, there is something in it for all that will make you look at relationships differently, help you work harder on you marriage, realize the work involved in being married or just realize that the side chick life is not all roses. So proud of you guys and I pray that God continuesaid the work he's started in you!
Latasha and her husband went through a very difficult time in their marriage with infidelity, something that hits close to home for many marriages. In this book, you are taken through the various stages of their relationship, from the early days of getting to know one another and the infatuation, to the routine of kids and work, to the devastating results of side relationships, and finally the reconciliation and hope for a better life and marriage through their faith in God. What I loved about this book is the complete and brutal honesty. They went into detail on a lot of really personal situations that were very difficult to even read at times, but they were not afraid to put their experiences out there to help others get through similar situations and I commend them for that. I think everyone who is married or even considering marriage should read this book!!
This book is definitely a top seller! Ive talked to your through parts of this journey so indeed it was jaw dropping to actually hear the whole story and how you reacted!! I admire and respect the way you allowed yourself to be totally transparent and tell the real deal, understamding that this story will bless not just wives but husbands and even encourage side chicks to b better....I've always admire and respected u and my own personal confidant and once again you jave not failed to encourage me beyond what I expected!!! I laufh, cried and even checked myself in regards to the things that were told in the book...Overall it was tears of joy and encouragement that Ive gained! Thank you for being obedient to what God wanted u to do and I pray that he comtinues ro ise you and continue to restore your marriage...Most importantly you gave God his Glory! You stated that turning back to his "will" and allowing him to restore your mRriage is what it took bc u understood that u or your husband could not do it!! I literally read this book in one sitting.. I could not put it down! It was very very informative and very very REAL! If you want a perspective from the female and male point of view this is your book. Loved her the husbands excerpts. Do yourself a favor and get this book! Patiencly waiting for book #2!!!
This book is an awesome read. The transparency and realness given from both husband and wife is what is needed to let other couples know, that marriages can work and be healthy and MAKE IT!!! I recommend this to all married couples....
